संवाद साधण्यासाठी वापरले जाणारे एकमेव साधन म्हणजे “भाषा” होय. संवाद साधण्यासाठी फक्त भाषेचाच वापर होतो असं नाही, तर इंद्रियें व शरीराच्या काही भागांचाही वापर केला जातो. पण, तो भाषेएवढा प्रभावी नाही आहे. व्यक्तिचे सामाजिक जीवन हे भाषेवरच आधारित आहे, भाषा नसेल तर आपले सामाजिक जिवन शुन्यात गणले जाते.
पृथ्वीतलावर माणुस हा इतर प्राण्यांच्या तुलनेत अधिक संवेदनशील आणि बुद्धिवान समजला जातो. माणुस सतत स्वतःला व्यक्त करण्याची भूमिका ठेवतो. पूर्वी माणसाला जेव्हा भाषेचं पुरेसे ज्ञान अवगत नव्हतं तेव्हा तो काही सांकेतिक खुणा व विशिष्ठ आवाजाचा संवाद साधण्यासाठी वापर करायचा. पण काळांतराने भाषेचा विकास झाला आणि भाषाच एकमेकांशी संवाद साधण्यासाठी एकमेव साधन बनलं.
भाषा कशाला म्हणतात?
जेव्हा एखादी व्यक्ती आपल्या मनात निर्माण होणारी भावना लिहून किंवा बोलून दुसऱ्या व्यक्तीपर्यंत पोहोचवते तेव्हा त्याला भाषा म्हणतात. परंतू, यामध्ये एक उणीव आहे ती म्हणजे माणसाची भाषा फक्त मानवच समजू शकतो आणि बहुतेक प्राणी प्राण्यांची भाषा समजू शकतात. तथापि, एक गोष्ट अशी आहे की मनुष्य आणि प्राणी दोघेही एकमेकांचे हावभाव समजू शकतात.

कलियुगात विद्वान, पंडित विचार किंवा अनुभव प्रकट करण्यासाठी वापरल्या जाणाऱ्या ‘ध्वनीना’ भाषा संबोधायचे. सामन्यतः तोंडाद्वारे बोलल्या जाणाऱ्या “शब्दांचा” उल्लेख भाषा म्हणून केला जातो. परंतु, बोलले जाणारे सर्व शब्द हे भाषेमध्ये समाविष्ट होत नाहीत. कारण त्यातील बर्याचश्या शब्दांचा वापर हा फक्त आपण बोलीभाषेसाठी करतो. त्यासाठी भाषेने काही नियम व अटी घालून दिल्या आहेत त्याला “व्याकरण (grammar)” म्हणतात.
भाषेचे महत्त्व
माणसाने आत्मसात केलेला सर्वात महत्त्वाचा दृष्टिकोन म्हणजे भाषा होय. ज्याच्या माध्यमातून माणसाने विविध प्रकारचे आविष्कार आणि वैचारिक प्रगती केली आहे, त्यामुळेच माणूस या सृष्टीतील एक बुद्धिमान प्राणी म्हणून ओळखला जातो. भाषेला लिपीसारखे वरदान मिळाल्याने, भाषा आज स्थायी रूपात अस्तिवात आहे.
भाषेची उत्पत्ति कशी झाली?
ऋषी-मुनींची भाषा असलेल्या संस्कृतमध्ये भाक हा शब्द आहे. आणि या शब्दावरून भाषा हा शब्द घेतला गेला आहे. तुम्हांला सांगू इच्छितो की संस्कृत ही केवळ आपल्या भारताचीच नव्हे तर जगातील सर्वात प्राचीन भाषा मानली जाते आणि त्यातील भाक या शब्दाचा अर्थ बोलणे असा होतो. पॅलेओलिथिक काळात लोकांनी पहिल्यांदा भाषा लिहायला सुरुवात केली.

भाषेचे प्रकार | Types of Languages
पृथ्वीवर जवळजवळ 12 लाख सजीवांच्या जाती (12 lakh species of living beings) असल्याचा अंदाज आहे. प्रत्येक जात आपल्या जातीसंबंधातील सजीवांशी संवाद साधण्यासाठी कोणत्या ना कोणत्या भाषेचा वापर करतेच. त्यामध्ये तीन भाषांचा समावेश होतो त्या खालीलप्रमाणे:
1)मौखिक भाषा (Oral Language)
मौखिक भाषेमध्ये तोंडाद्वारे निघणाऱ्या ध्वनीचा समावेश होतो. जेव्हा मानवी आस्तित्व निर्माण झाले तेव्हाच या भाषेचा जन्म झाला. सर्व सजीव जन्म झाल्यापासूनच बोलण्यास सुरुवात करतात. जेव्हा माणुस जन्माला येतो तेव्हा तो बोबडे बोलतो आणि काळांतराने परिस्थितीनुसार स्पष्ट बोलू लागतो.
2)लेखी भाषा (Written Language)
लेखी भाषेचा वापर आजवर फक्त मानवानेच केला आहे असं पाहण्यात आलं आहे. जेव्हा कोणी श्रोता समोर नसेल तेव्हा संवादासाठी आपण लेखी भाषेचा वापर करतो. परंतु, लेखी भाषा शिकण्यासाठी शिक्षणाची गरज असते. यामुळेच आपल्या शालेय पाठ्यक्रमात काही भाषा विषय समाविष्ट केले आहेत. लेखी भाषा शिकण्यासाठी शाळेत गेलं पाहिजे असं काही बंधन नाही, पण भाषेचा अभ्यास करणे बंधनकारक राहील.
3)सांकेतिक भाषा (Sign Language)
तुम्हांला ठाऊक असेलच लहान मुळे किंवा मुखी लोक बोलण्यासाठी सांकेतिक भाषेचा वापर करतात. सांकेतांमध्ये डोळे, जिभ, कान, हात आणि पाय अशा मानवी अवयवांचा समावेश होतो.
भाषा कोणकोणत्या लिपिमध्ये लिहिली जाते?
विविध भाषा लिहिण्यासाठी विविध लिपींचा वापर केला जातो. जसे मराठी व हिंदी भाषा लिहिण्यासाठी “देवनागरी”, इंग्रजी भाषा लिहिण्यासाठी “रोमन” लिपी वापरतात. लिपिचा थेट संबंध लेखी भाषा प्रकाराशी आहे, म्हणून लिपीचं एक वेगळचं महत्व आहे. आपले विचार लिखित स्वरूपात इतरांपर्यंत पोहोचविण्यासाठी लिपी मोलाची भूमिका बजावते. सध्या अस्तित्वात असणाऱ्या काही लिपी खालीलप्रमाणे:
देवनागरी – मराठी, हिंदी, नेपाळी, संस्कृत
रोमन – इंग्रजी, फ्रेंच, जर्मन
गुरुमुखि – पंजाबी –
फारशी – उर्दू, अरबी, फारशी
भाषेच्या उत्पत्तीबाबत काही सिद्धांत
भाषेच्या उत्पत्तीच्या संदर्भात, विविध विद्वानांनी अतिशय प्राचीन काळापासून स्वतःच्या कल्पना दिल्या आहेत. या विद्वानांनी भाषेच्या उत्पत्तीबाबत पुढील सिद्धांत मांडले आहेत.
दैवी उत्पत्ती सिद्धांत – हा उत्पत्तीचा सर्वात जुना सिद्धांत आहे, ज्या अंतर्गत संस्कृत भाषा ही सर्वात जुनी भाषा मानली जात होती.
विकासात्मक सिद्धांत – या सिद्धांतानुसार भाषा वेगवेगळ्या कालखंडात विकसित होत राहते.
धातू किंवा डिंग डोंग सिद्धांत – याला डिंग डोंग युक्तिवाद किंवा भाषेची रणनीती म्हणतात. या तत्त्वानुसार जगातील प्रत्येक वस्तूचा स्वतःचा उच्चार ध्वनी असतो आणि याच ध्वनीतून शब्द आणि भाषा निर्माण झाली.
अनुकरण तत्त्व – माणसाने आपल्या सभोवतालच्या गोष्टींचे अनुकरण करून त्या शब्दांपासून हळूहळू नवीन शब्द आणि भाषा विकसित केली आहे.
यो हे हो सिद्धांत– याला श्रम आवाज किंवा थकवा कमी करणे, श्रमपहार मूलतत्त्ववाद असेही म्हणतात, या सिद्धांताचे प्रवर्तक न्यावर नावाचे विद्वान आहेत. या सिद्धांतात हो हो, हो हो, हैय्या हैय्या इत्यादी शब्दांमुळे भाषेची उत्पत्ती झाल्याचे मानले जाते.
ताता तत्त्व – या तत्त्वानुसार आदिम मानव काम करताना नकळत अनेक ध्वनी आणि योगायोग उच्चारत असे आणि या ध्वनी आणि शब्दांपासून हळूहळू भाषा विकसित होत गेली.
संगीत सिद्धांत – या तत्त्वानुसार, गाण्यातली सुरुवातीची निरर्थक अक्षरे निरर्थक ठरतात आणि विशेष परिस्थितीत त्यांचा वापर केल्यामुळे ती अक्षरे बनली आहेत.
संपर्क सिद्धांत– या सिद्धांताचे प्रवर्तक जी. रवेझ सर यांच्या मते, मानवाच्या विविध गटांच्या परस्परसंवादामुळे ही भाषा निर्माण व विकसित झाली आहे.
मराठी भाषेविषयी थोडक्यात
जगभरात बोलल्या जाणाऱ्या भाषांमध्ये 15 व्या व भारतात 4 थ्या स्थानावर असणाऱ्या मराठी भाषेविषयी थोडक्यात जाणून घेऊ या.
मराठी भाषा ही इंडो-युरोपिय भाषाकुळातील असून भारतातील प्रमुख 22 भाषांपैकि एक आहे. मराठी भाषा लिहिण्यासाठी देवनागरी लिपीचा वापर केला जात असून तिच्या एकूण 9 बोलीभाषा आहेत त्या खालीलप्रमाणे:
अहिराणी, कोंकणी, कोळी, आगरी, माणदेशी,
